Updates in Pediatrics &Neonatal Care symposium

Learning Needs 

• The scientific planning committee has identified knowledge gaps in the principles and application of the new and/or updated protocols in the treatment management of different pediatric subspecialties, i.e. infectious diseases, cardiology, surgery, neurology, and neonatology. Some practitioners have insufficient competencies in the treatment of various pediatrics and neonatology conditions according to causes, problems, signs, and symptoms, complications, assessment, and differential diagnoses.

•           At the end of the Symposium, participants will be able to:
•           Recognize disease conditions affecting neonates and provide updates on the treatment management related to these pathologies.
•           Discuss the treatment modalities – medical and surgical indications of neonates suffering from infectious disease conditions.
•         Identify and analyze symptoms demonstrating the onset of life-threatening conditions among newborns and children.
•          Demonstrate competency in the management of pediatric patients with respiratory disease conditions.
•          Recognize and describe symptoms and manifestations of patients with pulmonary and cardiac conditions and their management plan.
•           Define the pediatrician and neonatologist’s role in reducing childhood mortality.
• Integrate the recent updates in the management of neonates and pediatrics into the clinical practice
